This lock was made from iron and it's meant to last a lifetime! A true piece of American History, this Wells Fargo & Company Extra Large Old Western Lock and Keys Set are an incredibly well-made replication. It's a big one too; made exactly the way they made them in the old west. The engraved plate on the front says, "Property of Wells, Fargo, & Co. Express San Francisco Division."
Henry Wells and William Fargo founded the Wells, Fargo, & Co. in San Francisco in the midst of the California gold rush. They provided banking services and financial security for people out in the Wild West during the times of run-away outlaws and train robbers. In the 1860s Wells Fargo gained fame for its company logo of a stagecoach. In 1861, the Company ran the western track of the Pony Express. Wells Fargo survived the Wild West and its founding fathers, and is still in operation today.
